Indian weather has different climates and our skin is exposed to heat, air conditioning or humidity in each of these. That’s why it is extremely important to take care of your skin. You must have noticed that Indian skin tends to be oily and acne prone. Along with this, skin gets dry, rough and patchy because of dehydration. In this situation, it is important to keep your skin clean and hydrated.
That’s why you need to modify your daily skincare routine accordingly.

Tip 1:
The most important thing is to keep your skin and body hydrated in the summers. Your skin and body both need a lot of hydration, so drink plenty of water. Try and have at least 7-8 glasses of water every day and always carry a bottle of water with you.

It is also important to cleanse and refresh your skin well in hot weather. You should choose a face wash that suits your skin type. You can use an oil-free cleanser for oily skin and gentle hydrating cleanser for dry skin. Wash your face at least twice a day.

Exfoliate your skin properly. Exfoliation removes the dead skin cells, dirt, remnant makeup and excess oiliness from your skin. It also removes the superficial tan. You should exfoliate once every ten days as over exfoliation can damage your skin.

Don’t forget to apply hydrating moisturizers on your skin. This helps to lock in your skin’s moisture and keeps your skin hydrated.
People with oily skin feel that it is not necessary to use moisturizers in summer, but this is a misconception. When you wash your face, the skins natural oils or its protective layer gets washed off. This causes the skin to become dry and irritated.

Tip 5:
The best solution to save your skin from India’s bright, hot sunlight is sunscreen. You should apply sunscreen every day whether it is the rainy season, summer or winter. Apply sunscreen 15 minutes before leaving your house.

Tip 6:
Treat sun damage on time. You may forget to use sunscreen or may not apply enough, which can cause your skin to become damaged or tanned. If your skin gets damaged, you can apply soothing gel or cooling balm on the exposed skin. This will help to reduce the irritation and redness. If aloe vera or calamine solutions suit your skin, you can use them to treat sunburn as they have a lot of soothing properties.

Tip 7:
Don’t forget to protect your lips! Just like our skin our lips also need protection. The skin on our lips is extremely sensitive and increased exposure to the sun may darken your lips. Our lips can get really dry in summers, so use a lip balm with good SPF.
This will help protect your lips and keep them soft and smooth.

Tip 8:
A healthy diet is also important for healthy skin. Include seasonal fruits like mangoes, watermelon, jackfruit, lychee and fresh berries in your diet. These have essential vitamins, minerals, nutrients, and antioxidants and they also keep your skin hydrated.

Use as little makeup as possible, especially in summers. The weather in summer is very hot and humid. Using excessive makeup products on your skin may increase the chances of acne and pimples. So avoid makeup as much as possible in summers.

Exercise regularly. It is extremely important to exercise along with having a healthy diet.

Protect yourself from the sun and avoid going out between 11 and 4 when the sun is at its peak. Even if you have to go out in the sun, use scarves, hats, helmets to cover your face. Use full sleeved clothes or umbrellas.
