Marco Bizzarri is an Italian business executive, president and CEO of Gucci since 2014; from 2005 to 2009 he was president of Stella McCartney and from 2009 to 2014 of Bottega Veneta, since 2012 he has been a member of the executive committee of Kering.
Bizzarri began his career as a consultant at the computer consulting firm Accenture in 1986; in 1993, he joined the Mandarina Duck group in Bologna, afterwards became CEO of the group and nine years later, in 2004, he became general manager of the design brand Marithé and François Girbaud.
In December 2014, Kering appointed Marco Bizzarri CEO of Gucci, the French group’s flagship brand; under Bizzarri’s leadership, the Gucci brand underwent a real relaunch, presenting itself with a new aesthetic and a new strategy.
The key elements are cross-gendered collections, a fur-free policy that bans real fur and a digital strategy that focuses on growing the fan base on social media.
